NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative that provides funding to people with disabilities, empowering them to live with greater independence, choice and opportunity. The program helps people access the supports they need to achieve their goals and participate fully in every day life. At it’s heart, NDIS is about creating inclusive communities where every person can thrive, improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Supported Independent Living
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an initiative funded through NDIS that provides people with disabilities the opportunity to live independently in a home, while being supported by a team of people who can assist with daily living and development of life skills. The program is about creating a safe home environment where people can flourish, grow and enjoy greater independence each day.
UNITED
The UNITED program is a supported employment and community participation initiative. The UNITED workforce are involved in meaningful work activities such as shredding confidential documents for local businesses and general maintenance work. The UNITED program builds confidence, develops practical work and social skills, fosters independence and creates opportunities to contribute to the local community.
Harmonee House
Harmonee House is a community space where people can connect, learn and grow through tailored group programs and activities. This initiative provides a safe and supportive environment that promotes wellbeing, independence, inclusion, life skills and participation. Our thriving Health and Wellness Group is an example of a long-standing program that focuses on improving physical and mental health outcomes by facilitating engaging workshops and activities which encourage healthy habits, develop new skills, create connections and inspire confidence.
Mental Health Outreach
Through the Mental Health Commission, BOICO provides non-clinical community mental health outreach, psychosocial support, and advocacy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The program aims to support people to build independence, improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships and social connections, and achieve their personal recovery goals. Supports are tailored to individual needs and may include support accessing community services, developing life skills, maintaining housing, increasing community participation, and building confidence.
Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program
The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Progracm (CPSP) is commissioned through the WA Primary Health Alliance and is designed to support individuals who are experiencing significant psychosocial or mental health challenges, who are not connected to the NDIS. This program focuses on assistance with navigating services and supports, improving mental health and wellbeing, and encouraging independence and community connection. We aim to build confidence, strengthen coping strategies, and set goals while working toward meaningful outcomes. CPSP is delivered on a one-to-one basis at home or in community settings, and is tailored to every individual’s needs and goals.
